Making Boss Moves: Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg, mostly known as a west- coast rapper, has made a few major Boss Moves that are worthy of attention. Most recently, he has agreed to co- host a cooking show with Martha Stewart. Not your typical guy, has Snoop teaching me a few things about life and business:
1. Don’t let stereotypes hold you back– No one expected to see him beyond the gangster rap lifestyle that launched his career. However, Snoop has proven that he is “more than a rapper” by making his way to the big screen and now co-hosting a TV show.
2. Be YOU- Everywhere you go- One thing that never changes is Snoop Dogg. He is a “what you see is what you get” kinda guy. So if he’s on the stage at an awards show, on the field at his sons’ football game, or in the kitchen with Martha Stewart- Snoop is Snoop. Authenticity at it’s best. While many are struggling to balance a personal and public image, Snoop keeps it simple- he keeps it Snoop.
3. Think long-term– Understanding that the music industry can be unpredictable, Snoop has made major Boss Moves, by building a legacy beyond the recording studio. Investing in Reddit, starring in BET’s new hit show “Music Moguls”, hosting radio shows and teaming up with Martha Stewart, Snoop has added to his long standing success as a true Boss.
